Assignment #13

Back when I was a youngin', i remember getting in trouble at daycare. There was a boy harassing my friend so I hit him in the face. I got in big trouble for that and they told me they would have to tell my mom what happened. Well, at the time, that was a severe punishment and all day I was dreading the moment she would pick me up and find out what I had done. I was almost in tears. I thought I was done for. When she arrived to pick me up she was of course upset to hear I hit someone, but instead of screaming at me and really letting me have it, she just took me aside, sat me down, and we had a calm collected discussion. No yelling. No intimidation.
That's the kind of relationship we have. I know I can come to her with anything no matter what and she'll hear what I have to say. I know that whatever trials or tribulations we come across, together we can come to a resolution. I think it's very important to be able to talk to your parents. To be able to depend on and aren't intimidated by. I encourage communication between parents and kids, and in the end everyone benefits that way.
