Assignment #9

(1.) A blanket to snuggle up with and to keep me warm.
(2.) A PSP (with at least one game) to keep me from losing it because obviously I'm going to get bored all by myself.
(3.) A lighter because I assume I will need to make fire somehow.
(4.) A flashlight because I don't have nightvision goggles and I want some way to be able to see when it's dark outside.
(5.) A Trampoline just because I think it would be cool to have one. Plus I could work on my hops!

After being on the island for a year I predict I will get tired of the PSP because if I only had one game for it I would probably sick of it and hopefully have beaten it by then. All my other items I really don't think I would tire of and would "continue to shine".

Assignment #7

Two weeks ago I ran into a little altercation at my school when I tried to re enter the building without a required pass. I was with my boyfriend, DeVon, and we were both stopped by the hall monitor, Mr.Moore. We were told that we could not re enter the building with out a pass and then asked to call a teacher to verify that we could be admitted. We did so and were allowed back into the building. We did what was asked of us and it seemed as if everything was fine and there were no unresolved issues.
Two days later, Devon and I were approached by our teachers. They expressed concern about our VOICES passes which are only to be used to get out of the building during fourth and fifth hour on VOICES business. They accused us of abusing them and also trying to "sneak" back into the school. Obviously there was a miscommunication somewhere and one of the teachers went to the front desk to clarify what exactly happened. It was indeed just a miscommunication between our teachers and the front desk people.
The next day in class one of the teachers took me to the side and talked to me about what happened. She told me that I was lying and I needed to reevaluate my relationship and who I was because I let Devon lie about what I was doing. When I tried to voice my side of the story, my teacher interrupted me and told me there is no argument and there was no room for dispute. I was extremely upset by this. I felt I was treated unfairly and it was neither her place or was it called for to pass judgment upon me. Especially since throughout this whole situation I showed her no disrespect whatsoever.
Nothing really happened after this. No resolution was reached. I was left feeling defeated and hurt that my character was questioned when I sincerely felt I did nothing wrong and I especially did not lie.

Assignment #6

I like to be in a familiar, laid back environment where I can let loose and completely be myself. Which is why my "happy place" is my own home. There is no other place on this earth where I feel most comfortable.
After a busy day at work, there's nothing more relaxing than coming home, throwing on some sweats, grabbing a snack and my favorite blanket, and kicking back in my favorite chair and popping in a movie. Of course I don't desire a life full of nothing but lounging around, but when i get those precious moments to just do nothing. I am in a state of pure bliss.
I also love being around my family. There are a few little disputes now and then, but overall we get long great. And there is no one else who knows me like they do.
I know it doesn't sound very exciting when the best place you've ever been to is your very own house. I've been to some amazing places, but at the end of the day there's no place I would rather be than at home.

Assignment #4

Before I die I would like to express the importance of forgiveness and not to hold grudges for any grievance. Don't let anyone discourage you from doing something that you believe in. Don't pass judgment on others; it is not your place. And most importantly , "Grab that net and catch that beautiful butterfly!!!"

Assignment #3

On Monday night, a sixth grade boys soccer game was abruptly interrupted by an overjoyed man when he receives a phone call informing he landed the job at Dominos that he had applied for. The game had been taking place across the street from his house and in a fit of joy he ran across the street onto the field in nothing but his socks exclaiming, "I got it! I got it! I got the job!" Families of the boys were very distraught and disgusted by this display. Authorities nearby were notified immediately and the man was tackled and taken down. The man was ordered to return to his home and put clothes on. The game resumed and afterward the man returned and publicly apologized for his inappropriate display of nudity. Dominos was thrilled to hear about his enthusiasm to work there.

Assignment #2 continued

I feel this happens a lot everywhere. In the media, politics, even in High school. As a result, reputations are ruined and ethics are compromised.

Assignment #2

My first reaction to the website was some what in describable. Something similar to when you discover Santa Claus isn't real. I was shocked, confused, and kind of upset. My entire life I've learned about what a remarkable man Martin Luther King was and how he made history. This was the first time I've ever read something so negative about him.

After doing a little research and exploring more of the website, I became more and more reassured that this website wasn't even valid and was not legitamite at all. The sources were inaccurate with no valid credentials at all.

This website made me realize how easy it is to believe something no questions asked, and how important it is to not take things for face value without valid evidence to support them. This makes me wonder how accurate any information is on the internet.

YOU!

Alright, here goes....
My name is Jessica Ulrich. I am a senior here at South High. Last year I missed an English credit by failing Mrs.Hayes's apocolyptic literaure class 3rd quarter. There's really no other explnation as to why I recieved that F besides the fact that I just got lazy and didn't put forth the effort. So, now I have to do this credit make up stuff......you live and learn I guess.
My life outside of school involves working, sleeping, basketball, and spending time with my friends and family. I work at Lady Foot Locker at Southdale. I have been since September of 07. It's alright. Just as good as any other job I suppose. I also play varsity basketball for South High. I have participated in the program since my freshman year. I haven't decided if I will play in college. I have lived in Minneapolis all my life at the same address in Uptown a couple blocks from lake Calhoun. I live with my mom, my dad, and my little brother who also attends South High.
That pretty much wraps it up.
